It’s January. The celebrations are over, waistlines have become bigger and bank accounts have become smaller. Many say that the first month of the year is the time that gets us down the most. Whether or not that’s true, it certainly doesn’t give us much to be happy about, either.

This is when we should feel lucky to be Londoners. In our city, there is always something going on, and if you do a little searching, you will find that many of these things won’t break the bank.

To lift your spirits, FV1 has brought all of London’s fun, cheap and free events to try to brighten your dark, wintry January. Read on for our picks from London’s east end.
