Hello, my name is Paul Lamaison and I work for Salesforce as a leader in our Customer Success organisation. I am also a qualified Financial Adviser. Salesforce encourages all its staff to spend 7 days a year volunteering for a cause that is important to them. For the last 3 years, I have chosen to spend my time working with Futureversity on their brilliant life skills programme for students over the Summer break.
I run the “How to be a Millionaire” course to teach students about the importance of managing their money and give them a high-level overview of the financial world. This is designed to prepare them for the next step in their life when they go to university, enter the job market, move out of home, get offered credit cards and loans etc.
Schools are still not equipping students with appropriate financial knowledge in my view, and I am keen to play my part in changing this. I hope that for some students what they learn with me on the day will change the trajectory of their lives completely.
I am very grateful to both Salesforce and Futureversity for giving me the opportunity to make this difference.
Feedback for 2018 How to be a Millionaire includes;
“I had fun playing the game, made friends and learnt how not to be broke and manage my money. I enjoyed the course, the people and the food.”
