There is not enough coverage of opportunities that are available for young people. This leads to young people feeling ignored and helpless, as a result, they find other ways to keep themselves occupied during their free time, which includes anti-social behaviour.
The opportunities that are available may not target all young people and therefore doesn’t fulfil their interests. We need to find a combination of varied activities/courses that appreciates all interests of all young people.
It is my belief that the work we do will help to reduce anti-social behaviour in the Royal Borough of Greenwich by providing young people with activities and courses to do over the summer, to keep them occupied. This will also open many doors of opportunities for young people who want to find work in specific industries; this targets our second issue which is unemployed young people with no ambition or guidance.
