Last summer was filled with an immense positivity all the way through. I was nervous, we all were, especially during training, but what was said and what was talked about, what we would do, it became worthwhile.
My best friend and I joined together, and we came out with more friends, togetherness and loved working as a team. To deliver a programme with such depth, takes time and patience, especially with kids.
Sometimes sessions were tough, but when you see a kid happy with what they’ve done, what they’ve created, you feel proud to be a Peer Motivator. I was and am proud of every single person that was involved and feel honoured that I was apart of it.
I’m thankful to have been taught how to bring forward leadership qualities that I struggled to utilise properly. Thank you for an experience that I’ll never forget.
Below is a poem I wrote about being a Peer Motivator in 2018.
