This music writing and lyric workshop provides all the experience and understanding of music therapy and creative writing to improve your writing skills. There is a focus on a range of topics related to urban music production, lyric writing and strategies that can be deployed to gain industry careers and opportunities for self-employment after leaving school or college.
Your tutor Justin has lots of experience in facilitating music production workshops having enjoyed over 20 UK hits as a producer, artist and manager. Justin had his first Top 10 when he was just 16 years old.
Learning OutcomesParticipants will also be mentored throughout the program and they will cover the following. • Inquiries into the purpose and functions of popular recording studio devices used in modern production • The initiation and testing of methodologies, and techniques, to develop song/lyric writing skills • Presentations and demonstrations on how to produce a beat/song in Logic Pro X • An introduction to signal processors, synchronous with an exploration of the mixing and production techniques used by popular urban music producers
